The role of technology in language learning and research
LLT 2015 announcement

On November 20 - 21, 2015, the Institute of English Studies and the Center for Modern Languages at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg will host the conference Language. Learning. Technology. The conference aims to explore the role of technology in language learning, teaching and research. It will highlight not only the opportunities that technology provides for language students to participate in authentic foreign language discourses, but also the educational rationales that necessarily underlie such opportunities when they are integrated into the classroom. Creative and innovative research methods for investigating the evolving language classroom are the final focus of this conference. The conference is designed to be of interest to both researchers and teachers, and to this purpose invites both academic research papers and more hands-on practice reports. Vom 20.-21.11.2015 richten das Institute of English Studies und die Zentraleinrichtung Moderne Sprachen der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg die Konferenz Language. Learning. Technology. aus. Die Konferenz soll die Rolle digitaler Technologien und Anwendungen in der fremdsprachlichen Didaktik, Sprachwissenschaft und Lehr-Lern-Forschung beleuchten. Der Fokus der Konferenz liegt auf der Erforschung und Diskussion aktueller unterrichtlicher und außerunterrichtlicher, mediengestützter Ansätze des Fremdsprachenlernens sowie dem Verständnis darin verorteter Lern- und Kommunikationsprozesse. Dabei soll die Konferenz auch Raum bieten für die Reflexion forschungsmethodischer Fragen in diesem Forschungsfeld. Die Ausrichtenden rufen Wissenschaftler/innen und Lehrende zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen für Forschungs- und Praxisbeiträge auf (ca. 400 Wörter). Der Call for Papers ist bis zum 31.05.2015 befristet.
