The University of Tübingen offers a
Research position (E 13 TV-L, 100\\%)

in the junior research group “The language dynamics of the ancient Central Andes”. The position will be available from November 1st 2018 and run for 24 months.

The successful applicant will investigate lexical and grammatical contact phenomena in the languages of the eastern slopes of the Central Andes of Peru and Bolivia, paying attention both to contacts with highland and lowland languages.

Applicants must hold a M.A in linguistics or a related field. They should have considerable experience in research on South American comparative-historical linguistics. Strong applicants will also already have a track record of publications in the major international journals of the field, including publications relevant to the current offer. A background in anthropology of the Americas is also highly desirable. Applicants should have excellent social skills and have experience with working in the context of a broader research project.

Applications should include a letter of motivation, a CV with a list of publications that demonstrate relevant experience as described above, and a sample of academic work with relevance to the advertised position.
